IWSG 10-17

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds! You can join HERE!!

Wow it is great to be back with this amazing group of people. I must say that I have missed IWSG.

Normally I would try to spend this time encouraging others about this process of writing or trying to get some, but obviously this month is a bit different for me. This month my main source of insecurity or worry is all around the release of my new book.

Things that were out of my control have had me away from my blog and other areas in a time where I needed to be here the most.

That being the case I have extended the giveaway for another week so that I can make the rounds and really try to get everything out.

Other than that I have started work on a few new projects. I am excited to see where they go, but also the insecurities are always there with something new.

The question this month asked if we had slipped personal information into a character. The answer is ... yes. lol

Sophia has a lot of things that are similar to me or things from my past. If you have read her, you might know me just a bit better.

Hope everyone is doing well. See you soon.

I think your time away may have been necessary and not entirely where you wanted to be, but I'm all for fresh starts and the excitement of getting your groove back.

  8. Congrats on the release! I hope it all goes well. Yeah, we can't help our characters having a part of us to some extent.

  11. I think most of us put a little of ourselves into one or more characters per project. I certainly do. Although I must admit I get a bit offended when I write a short story with a main character who's kind of a jerk, and a reader asks if he was based on me.

  12. Congrats on your new book and good luck with your upcoming projects. It always fascinates me when writers say that their characters of the opposite sex have a lot in common with them. Leo Tolstoy always maintained that about Natasha Rostova, one of his most charming female heroines in War and Peace. You are in good company.
