Wow, so I have not post since the last IWSG. Which means I missed a lot of you guys' A-Z. I am going to try and get around and at least see some of your post.

So as many of you know I was sort of a stay-at-home dad. I mean I would do some part-time stuff here and there for extra money(and some sanity). Still for the last 5 years I got to be with my kids and write, my wife had a great job and she enjoyed it. Well as they say the only constant is change.

My wife's job was bought by another company and they decided to try and move her two hours further away (she already drove an hour) and they were 12 hour shifts. We decided this wouldn't work.

So for the first time in a bit I am back to full time work. The job is pretty cool I get to work with metal and feel all manly and rustic. I am sure it will make for good writing fodder at some point.

The down side is it has been hard to fit in writing and blogging. I want to do both, I enjoy doing both. I just have to adjust.

So what is going on in your lives lately?

Anyway, as always, have fun and keep writing.

  1. Yep! So true, the only constant IS change! Glad you guys made it work and I say balance will find itself. Your passions don't just disappear so you'll adjust in no time and will be back at it. You got this!!! :)

  2. Too bad about your wife's job, but it's great you have something that makes you feel all manly and rustic, and has the potential of acting as good writing fodder. The writing fodder is always my favorite part of a day job.

  3. Real bummer about your wife's job! Glad you were able to get one so it didn't throw your whole family for a loop. Yeah, you'll eventually adjust and writing time will return.

  4. Well, I wish you well in your job! My dad is working mainly as a welder right now, probably similar to you (at least with the metal). I just finished up the semester in college. I'm still resting up, getting a little work done over the course of the day.

  5. We only have room for so much in our lives. I've reached critical mass here, and am trying to pare down on the unnecessary things so I can get back some time. I hope you settle into the new schedule and have plenty of writing time, at least.

  6. *snort* all manly and rustic! Too funny! Give things a little time to settle down. I bet you'll work out a schedule.

  7. I hope your wife has some time to rest and recharge. And I hope you're enjoying your new job. Maybe stuff from your job can inspire you in your creative writing.

  8. It's great that you guys were able to find a solution. I would take some time to get the feel of your new job, and figure out what time you have available and when during that time you can actually produce some writing. It'll come together eventually.
