My Writing Partner.

This, my friends, is Sadie. She is one of my most important writing partners. She, like me, is a mutt. I'm not entirely sure what breed she is mixed with(besides Lab), but I have fun speculating. She was a rescue and she is quite the character. With her strange habits and long limbs she is often referred to as the alien dog by my family.

Still I couldn't get my writing done without her. She has a very specific and important job. See, Sadie, has decided where ever I write her spot is right next to my feet. If I stop typing for a second she comes to attention and must be pet while I think of what to write next.

Funny enough this helps. I read somewhere a while back that people with pets live longer and one of those reasons is petting them actually relieves your stress. Now I am sure for her it is just a way to get loved on, but for me it is a few seconds to relax and just have a clear thinking moment.

I've always loved animals, but this one has a special place in my heart.

Anyway, do you guys have a special writing partner? I will leave you with one of Sadie's wise looks, she is the all knowing dog. As always have fun and keep writing.

  3. Awwww Sadie is totes adorbs!

She sounds like the perfect writing partner. Though, how you get much work done with all that cuteness is beyond me. I guess it helps that she keeps you going and helps you relieve that stress when needed. Lucky guy!

    1. TOTES, lol.

We have a deal, I must write so she gets pet. This let's her lay there until I stop typing.

  4. She's a cutie! We had black labs when I was a kid and one followed me and me only.

  5. Sadie is very cute. She looks quite intellectual! Our dog, Elliott, knows he owns us and everything in the house. He's also a rescue dog and I think he knows that our son chose him. He gets so excited whenever he sees Shane, that he practically jumps out the window! All we have to do is tell him either of the boys are coming and Elliott squeals and runs to the window to sit on the chair and watch for them. He always makes us smile.
I'm glad that Sadie is a good stress reliever so she has extra talents, aside from being cute.

  6. I love that!

I have two dogs who perform Sadie's role. Sometimes they take turns and sometimes they both cram themselves into the room.

Dogs make the very best writing partners.

  8. I agree about animals extending our lives... though this is the first I've read about petting and stress release being the reason. How wonderful is that? They love to be loved and it actually makes our lives better!

On a totally unrelated note, I see your right foot peeking out from underneath your leg. As long as I can remember I have sat just like that on my left one. In fact, I am doing it now. Isn't that odd????

    1. Too funny, that is when I know I am going to actually write, if the foot locks in.
