New starts.

Well the kids survived their first day of school. They seem to like the new place. I miss them being around all day, but at the same time this is my chance to get back on a good schedule.

Writing for me is best done with some sort of structure. If my life feels chaotic my writing time suffers. Even when I have free time to write my brain feels too scrambled to do so.

So that is one thing I will enjoy about this new school year. I have a lot of plans before next summer and I really am ready to jump back into it. It is time to break out the laptop and some lemonade and jump on the porch for some amazing writing sessions. I can't wait to share it all with you guys.

Anyway off to be with the family for a bit. Hope everyone is well. As always, have fun and keep writing.

  1. I don't know how those of you with kids do it. Hope you can get back in your groove now.
Good to hear from you, Brandon.

    1. It is doubled sided, we sacrifice time, but get some much to put in our books. Plus now that my daughter is getting older I get a free teenager's opinion on my YA.

  2. They are darling. Please tell Amanda the bracelet arrived and it is beautiful, but I can't figure out how to wear it.

    Love,

  3. They are beautiful!! And school started this week for us too. Sigh. Always makes me sad when summer ends… even though fall is my fav time of year :) I'm hoping to get back in my groove now too.

    1. Thank you. It is sad, but mostly because of how fast it all goes by. I am looking forward to fall as well. It means saying goodbye to my pool, but also the horrible heat.

  9. As much as we all enjoy summer and the lack of routine, we always find ourselves wanting a wee bit of structure by the end of August. I always feel like I can function better with a list and a plan, although you'd never know it to look around my house. :)

To celebrate, I've brought brownies for you this time . . .

  10. What a beautiful family you have Brandon!! Glad to hear they survived their first day back to school in a new place. My life is chaotic as well and our first day back to school isn't until Thursday 9/4, I'm hoping that after the kids return to school, some sense of routine and calm will descend upon my house. Fingers crossed!!
