This past month has been very trying.

I have really found myself in a place where I struggle to make since of it all. Between the loss of my dog and several other things happening around the same time, I truly have been in a state of reevaluation.

I guess in all this is not a bad thing. We should all sometimes step back and try to understand why we are where we are and how we can change that.

I guess I am just finding it hard to focus on the things that I truly want to focus on.

Maybe it is just a matter of time.

I mean, in the end decisions will be made and things will carry out their own course. Hopefully by the time the next IWSG comes around I will have a much lighter and happier post to give.

Fingers are crossed.

I hope everyone is well. As always, have fun and keep writing.

  2. So sorry about the loss of your beloved pet. It is the same as losing a family member. You keep seeing him in his usual places, and long to hear his bark and feel his fur. Give yourself time. Write about it in a journal. Your stories will return.

  4. I get that. Take the time you need. After my last baby was born it took a good ten months to start feeling like myself again. Any major life change is going to take emotional healing and time to fully comprehend. We seem to think we should just be able to go forward, but the truth is that sometimes we're more fragile than we want to believe.

  5. I think sometimes things don't *have* to make sense. These phases just hit us and all we can do is let it flow. It's heartbreaking to lose your pet and also to read you're struggling with so many things. Unfortunately we can't just pick up and move on, emotionally we all need time to get back in the right frame of mind. And I hope the light at the end of the tunnel starts shining soon. Hugs!

  6. I agree with S.K. Things don't always make sense. Hang in there and keep pushing forward. Things will get back to where you want them.

  9. I've had this focus problem for a couple years now. When your life is in flux, its hard to remember good times. Sorry about your dog, losing a pet, a part of the family, is difficult. Makes one think of how short life truly is.

  10. Loss is a creative suck of nature. Eventually, it becomes fodder for writing. But in the present, it's just painful. I hope things improve for you soon.

  11. Hi there.... One thing I find helps is to switch your train of writings to a different genre... For example, if you write Sci Fi, switch to Comedy, or Erotica, etc.... This helps loosen the stream of consciousness for me when I feel 'stuck'.
