Knee Update: It still hurts, but seems to be getting better. Thanks everyone that stopped by my last post.
X-ray Tetra
Fun Fact: The most distinctive feature is its translucent skin which allows its backbone to easily be seen. This species of tetra is set apart from its brethren by the fact that is can handle harsher waters as well as the freshwater normal tetra live in. The X-ray tetra have excellent hearing. Their special skeletal system receives vibrations sent out from the swim bladder which is then taken to the inner ear.

ReplyDeleteI had a pretty blue tetra for several years. Never heard of the X-Ray Tetra before today. Sounds like this fish is adapting to different environments!

ReplyDeleteHaving a strong backbone, in fish or in person, is a benefit. Metaphorically, my dad used to say that sometimes a strong backbone was needed to survive the verbal abuses of life.
ReplyDeleteTetras are pretty cool. We used to have neon tetras which looked really cool when one of the aquarium lights was a blacklight.

Glad to hear your knee is better...it actually does show in your cartoon...how else could you have supported that X-ray Tetra Machine on a bum knee. I felt the same way when I figured out my 'X' post. It's a tough one for sure...like the X-Ray Tetra. I'm still working on Z...are there any Z ray tetra's out there?

ReplyDeleteThe X-Ray Tetra makes me wander what an X-Ray Catfish would look like. Not as pretty, I imagine. Did you get your knee X-rayed? Thought it might be your inspiration. Of course, always a fan of the pics. Via A to Z Challenge.
